Equinox Ascensão

Equinox Ascensão is an enquiry of textile, shape, restriction and freedom. Through the language of shibori dyed organic calico, linens, and mineral denims, the collection is inspired by the process of regeneration. Created in honour of the approaching Spring Equinox, Equinox Ascensão is a body of work that seeks to rehumanise the daily struggles of self and collective actualisation and the necessary unravelling required in daily, politicized existence. The colors of the collection will be solar pinks and shibori indigos with shapes that resemble the restrictiveness of corseted garments loosened to reveal a cotton poplin drape or second skin. Reiterating the message of binding and unraveling,pieces will be designed to shed layers from heavy to soft fabrics, revealing the light shibori final skin beneath the garment.
