For Sun Ra - Equinox Collection

For Sun Ra: is space now the place? Is a continuation of a series that focuses intentionally on the cultural origins of my brand, Afrofuturism by way of Sun Ra and the ways cosmic landscapes can provide inspiration for marginalised communities to dream of new landscapes for body and self. With the current realities of space travel at our door step, the collection seeks to explore how in our cosmic dreaming and creating otherworldly but wearable designs, we are also being mindful and considerate of the planet we are on, Planet Earth. The second chapter of 4, this chapter explores the importance of safe community, sisterhood, and fam as in the valleys we become each other’s light. 

The collection was previewed as part of Melbourne Fashion Week x Multicultural Arts Victoria runway-music showcase, Beneath the Mask, held at Arts Centre Melbourne on 25 October 2025. Forthcoming blogpost on the event soon!
