25'<->26 Reflections

As 2025 has come to a close, I’ve been reflecting on what it means to continue a small, ethical fashion practice with intention — choosing longevity, values, and care over overproduction.

2025 was not about expansion for its own sake. It was about refining process, strengthening foundations, and allowing the work to move in ways that felt aligned.

REMUSE continued to centre ethical production, circular and plant-based materials, and made-to-order practices. The work also lived beyond the studio, appearing in performance and music projects and dance works filmed internationally — garments activated in motion and on screen.

This year also marked a settling into a studio space that supports our long-term vision. We look forward to welcoming you there in Naarm for future fittings and appointments.

Alongside the studio, my teaching practice deepened. This included a promotion at Collarts, an increased teaching load, and the beginning of further study through the Graduate Certificate of Higher Education, expanding my research into @pigmentpedagogy and material literacy. We also had the opportunity to expand our workshop offerings and contribute to industry panels — creating more space to share not only the work, but the education and ethics behind it. Teaching remains an essential extension of my fashion practice: a place where craft, culture, and care are held together.

Behind the scenes, I made intentional decisions around space, pace, and infrastructure to support the longevity of the work — and how I move through it.

Thank you to everyone who supported REMUSE this year: those who purchased thoughtfully, waited for made-to-order pieces, visited in person, and understood the values embedded in each garment.

As we move toward 2026 — a meaningful anniversary year for the label — the focus remains the same: deeper stories, expanded craftsmanship and technique, and a continued commitment to ethical fashion as a living practice.
